Descendant of the Schrum family who occupied our Heritage Cabin in the 1800's.  
Esther did much to promote the handing down of Calumet City history.

Virginia Brooks
Crusader against vice in Calumet City.  From 1910-1913, she led a successful campaign that brought about closing the doors of many 'dens of gambling and disorderly establishments in what was then the Village of West Hammond.

Calumet City Public Health Nurse from 1920s-1950s, our city's Health Center is named after her.

Mayor Michelle Markiewicz Qualkinbush
At age 27, Michelle was the youngest elected City Clerk in Calumet City's history and became the first woman to hold the office of Mayor.

Mary Matalin
TF North  High School graduate and 1970 Homecoming Queen, Mary went on to hold positions in the White House, host talk shows and authored books.

Adeline C. Jaacks
Well known teacher at TF North High School from 1927-1970, Miss Jaacks single-handedly set up the Biology Department and directed student activities.  The TF North Auditorium is named after her.
